Ford Auto Repair Diagnosis
Any auto mechanics out there…..?
I drive an ’02 Mazda Tribute (same as Ford Escape). Lately it has been acting very strange when I try to start it. Sometimes it starts right up without a problem and lots of times I will turn the ignition on and try to start it and nothing at all, not even a slight click. Sometimes I just keep turning the ignition off and on and finally after many tries it kicks in just as if nothing was wrong. I’m afraid it is soon going to fail altogether. I am not in a very good financial position right now so I can’t take it in for a diagnosis. Does anyone have an idea what the problem could be? It seems to definitely be in the ignition. Any ideas about repair costs?
it sounds like the ignition switch. it might last awhile then it might just go out. call advanced auto or auto zone to see how much one is. maybe you can put it in yourself if your car is easy. if not call a local mechanic for a quote. local mechanics are generally cheaper than someone like a pep boys or something. hope this helps
