Bug in my system or my internet service provider?

I can browse and download with no problem. Watch videos in Youtube and for some reason, I can’t access Yahoo! Messenger and Windows Live Messenger. I keep getting an error message saying I can’t log in. I also can’t upload pictures in image hosting sites. It gets worse. My programs’ auto updates are not working. I have a total of 11 applications with auto updates and none then can connect. I have this feeling that my PC is preventing my internet connection.

That sounds like you might have some malware. Try updating your programs in Safe Mode With Networking. That sometimes keeps malware from running.

Also, and especially if that works, you might want to run some anti-malware scans also in Safe Mode With Networking.

To get into Safe Mode with Networking:

1.Log out and reboot your machine.
2.When the machine starts the reboot sequence, press the F8 key repeatedly.
3.Select Safe Mode with Networking from the resulting menu.
4.Login. If the malware has changed your password, try logging in as Administrator. By default, Administrator has no password.
5.The machine will continue booting, but the Windows desktop will look different.
6.When you’re finished doing what you need to do, log out and reboot back into normal mode.
