Auto Repair Manuals Cd

Having trouble loading back on the audio driver after using auto-repair on my Windows installation cd…?

I used the built-in auto-repair function on my Windows XP Installation CD to repair problems with Windows that had developed on my computer, (leaving all files intact—so I didn’t have to backup.) The process I used is explained in this article (given to me by ‘KARZ’ from this site).

And, as he told me, all I had to do was install the drivers afterward. I put in the separate disc with drivers on it that came with the computer and TRIED to load the drivers using the instructions from my Dell 2350 owners manual but I guess I failed, or partly failed. But the computer does work, and I can access the internet after I eventually somehow stumbled into putting a driver to work for the modem even though it’s apparently not the one that came with the computer.

I still can’t figure out how to load the audio driver. Is there some trick to this? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

1) Visit http://support.dell.com
2) Click on the “Drivers & Downloads” link
3) Enter your Service Tag (found on a sticker on your machine somewhere, about 7 alpha-numeric characters long)
4) Scroll down and expand the “Audio” section to obtain the most current driver for your machine.
5) Install the downloaded file, and it should install your sound drivers. If that fails, your next move should be to call Dell Technical Support.
