Chrysler neon 2.0 auto – engine problem?

Compression down on cylinders one and two. Two garages say uneconomical to repair and replacement engine hard to find. Will piston seal help in the short term? Car is not worth the cost of a reconditioned engine.

put a quart of Lucas Oil Stabilizer into the engine crankcase. It sealed up the blown piston rings in my Saturn SL1 with 170,000 miles, and my brothers 75 Impala with 1/4 million miles on it. It doesnt totally fix the problem, but greatly reduces it. You can also try a product called “Restore”, it is supposed to work well to restore compression and ive heard many people swear by it, but i personally have no experience with it.
