How do I get my computer to detect my dvd burner?

When I go to My burner software it shows that I have no burner. I’ve tried to reinstall drivers, and attempted to repair OS( cant repair cause when I reboot to complete I get a blue screen that says it does not detect cd rom drive). Everything still works I can put in a Software cd it auto starts like it should, and DVDs start and play even? Can someone Help?

dvd drives should ALWAYS be automatically detected, if its detecting it wrong, manually select the driver for it via control panel, system, and device manager.
