Comments (0) I need help finding an Auto and Truck Technition in Houston?
I work for a maintenance and repair shop in Houston, TX and we are so busy that we can’t keep up. We desperately need to hire a good diesel truck mechanic and also an auto mechanic. I CANNOT seem to find any good candidates. We have posted on Craig’s List, in the paper, etc… Does anyone have any other avenues I could try. Like auto technician forums, groups, associations? Posting ads on job sites like Monster and Career Builder are expensive and not working. Please help if you have any suggestions!!
Try going to your local high school or career center that has an automotive program. I know it’s a bit of a risk, but talk to the instructors. There are quite a few kids that would do whatever it takes to get a leg up into a good automotive job. Just ask the instructor if they’ll select a couple of their top students to come out for an interview and you can make your judgment from there.
Although it may be a little more difficult now that school’s out…
