Short circuits and wire tracers or fault tracer… Particularly the shef f310?

So I’ve been thinking about purchasing a short cicuit, fault tacer… I’m a backyard mechanic and have been getting a lot of FORDs with short problems and been having to tear apart the cars in order to find the problems. Not all the shorts are in the same place and some are simply resistors, but for the ones having actual shorts along the wiring Ive had to spend all that time finding those problems… If I purchase a tracer or fault finder is it going to help the way that I need it to help for auto repair? Considering that those shorts cause voltage through the chassis back to the neg of the battery… Or is it going to trace the whole car as a short and there is no other way than to tear those vehicles apart… Has any other mechanics purchased this item? Was it worth it? Did it work miracles? Should I invest for auto repair?

i own a repair shop,and i own,, and use one ,,and it has helped a lot in doing that,,i found a bad short with mine that other wise might have taken me days to find,,and it did it in less then an hour,,so yes it will pay for its self in a few uses,,good luck,i hope this help,s..have a good x-mas.
